Living in Linxe
The origins of Linxe
A discreet Landes village of 1,500 inhabitants, Linxe lies halfway between Léon, Saint-Girons and the coast. The town has its roots in the forestry and agricultural exploitation of the great Landes pine forest. Over the course of the 20th century, the village gradually built itself around agriculture, pastoral farming and forestry, retaining a marked rural character.
Linxe's must-sees
The 19th-century Saint-Martin church, the weekly market and the authentic village centre bring local life to the town. The hiking trails through the Landes forest, quick access to Saint-Girons beach (10 minutes) and the proximity of the Léon lake offer a varied range of nature activities. Linxe is also home to several rural gîtes and campsites, evidence of local green tourism.
Living in Linxe
Linxe appeals to those seeking an authentic rural setting while remaining within immediate reach of the ocean (10 minutes) and the seaside resorts of Hossegor and Seignosse (35 minutes). A town valued for its balance between tranquillity, access to nature and strong village ties.
