Hossegor, a sought-after seaside resort

Between ocean, lake and forest, Hossegor is the most renowned seaside resort on the Côte d'Argent. Loved by surfers and by lovers of greenery and golf alike, this destination is highly coveted, which creates a significant imbalance between supply and demand. Buyers are mainly looking for beautiful houses with a pool, close to the lake and the golf course. Hossegor greatly appeals to city dwellers seeking a change of lifestyle, and the scarcity of such properties has driven a sharp rise in prices in recent years.
PRICE TRENDS IN HOSSEGOR
Our clients are mainly looking for beautiful villas around the lake and the golf course. The average sale price of houses in Hossegor rose from €4,957/m² in early 2018 to €6,219/m². Some of these properties, such as a house on the lake, sell for close to €4 million.
Over the past two years, average house prices per square metre in Hossegor have risen by around 25%. We do not yet know the impact of the current crisis, which should at the very least stabilise them.
A SUCCESS THAT BENEFITS NEIGHBOURING TOWNS
Bordering Hossegor, Seignosse also offers beautiful villas of varied architecture, from Basque-Landes styles to fine contemporary designs. BARNES Hossegor is currently offering for sale a very beautiful contemporary house of around 280 m² overlooking the ocean and sheltered by the dune, priced at €3,700,000. House prices in Seignosse are driven up by neighbouring Hossegor and easily exceed €4,000/m².
FURTHER INLAND
Hossegor, Seignosse and Capbreton have a fairly tight market, so properties for sale are rare, and buyers with more modest budgets can turn to nearby communes such as Saubion, an extension of Seignosse, where house prices remain around €3,000/m².
