Living in Seignosse

The origins of Seignosse

Located between Hossegor to the south and Vieux-Boucau to the north, Seignosse is a commune in the Landes department whose earliest mentions date back to the Middle Ages. Originally an agricultural and forestry village, it gradually turned towards the ocean in the 20th century, becoming one of the emblematic seaside resorts of the Silver Coast. With a territory spanning nearly 24 km², Seignosse today has around 3,500 permanent residents, a population multiplied by six during the summer season.

Seignosse's must-sees

Seignosse is world-renowned for its surf spot, with Bourdaines beach regularly hosting the international Roxy Pro France and Quiksilver Pro France competitions, stages of the world surfing championship. Seignosse's 18-hole golf course, designed by Robert Van Hagge in 1989, ranks among the 15 most beautiful courses in Europe according to Golf World magazine. The resort has five supervised ocean beaches in season (Penon, Bourdaines, Estagnots, Casernes, Naturiste), as well as remarkable forest heritage with the Seignosse state forest.
